SUMMARY:Pack 79 Monthly Pack Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Pack Meetings are the heart of our Cub Scout programa time when the entire Pack (all dens and all ranks\, from Lions to Webelos) comes together for a fun\, energetic\, and meaningful gathering. These meetings typically occur once a month and are led by the Cubmaster and Pack leadership team. Pack Meetings include group activities\, skits\, games\, and special recognitions to celebrate the Scouts achievements and progress in their Adventures.\n\n\nEach months meeting follows a theme and often ties into the values and character-building goals of Scouting. Scouts may present skits\, demonstrate new skills\, or show off projects they've worked on in their dens. Its also a chance to introduce seasonal events\, community service opportunities\, and upcoming Pack outings or campouts.\n\n\nWe take time during the meeting to recognize Scouts who have earned awards or completed rank requirements. These moments help reinforce positive behavior\, learning\, and leadership. Parents and families are strongly encouraged to attend\, as Pack Meetings are family-friendly and meant to build a sense of community across all our dens.\n\n\nUniforms are encouragedScouts should wear either their full Class A uniform or their Pack 79 T-shirt (Class B) if noted in the reminder. Please check your den's WhatsApp group or the monthly reminder email for specific attire instructions. If your Scout is receiving awards\, Class A uniforms are preferred.\n\n\nPack Meetings are also a great way for families to meet Pack leaders\, ask questions\, and stay informed. We value participation\, spirit\, and funcome prepared to cheer\, laugh\, and be part of what makes Pack 79 great!\n

SUMMARY:Scouting for Food
DESCRIPTION:Scouting for Food\, which is taking place this Saturday\, is one of the largest food drive events in the United States. Pack 79 has been doing this every year. The event window will be 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.\, with flexible participation. Even one hour of time is helpful. Our plan is to group scouts into teams of two or three and walk local neighborhoods around Russell Creek Park. The weather is expected to be great\, which should make for a nice outing. We recognize this is a shorter planning than usual\, and we appreciate everyones busy schedules\, especially on a nice Saturday. If your scout is available for any time between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.\, please email pack79plano@gmail.com with the time slot(s) you can support or also announce in the WhatsApp Group link below.Join the WhatsApp Group here if you can attend:Link:https://chat.whatsapp.com/K745Z9EGAf60OL1CBdquEn?mode=gi_t

SUMMARY:Pack Meeting BLUE & GOLD CEREMONY
DESCRIPTION:BLUE AND GOLD\nThe Blue and Gold Banquet is a Cub Scout tradition that celebrates the founding of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) on February 8\, 1910. It's often held in place of the February pack meeting and is a highlight of the program year. The event is a time to thank adults who have helped the pack\, inspire leaders\, Scouts\, and parents\, and create a warm atmosphere for families to enjoy each other's company. \nThe banquet typically includes: \nBadges of rank: Cub Scouts are awarded badges of rank \nArrow of Light ceremony: 5th graders may cross over to a troop and participate in the ceremony (So 5th graders need to try to get all requirements done before this meeting)\nGuests: Community leaders\, former members\, or other Scouting leaders may be invited \nMeal: Pizza. Cakes that the scout and their parent makes. Theme this year is Soccer.\nPACK 79 Meeting\nA Cub Scout pack meeting is a monthly event that brings together all the dens in a pack\, including Scouts\, leaders\, and families. The purpose of the meeting is to recognize the Scouts' achievements\, share information about upcoming events\, and provide a program that enhances the Cub Scouting experience. The meeting also helps Scouts understand that their den is part of a larger organization and connects their individual activities to the entire program. \nThe Cubmaster is responsible for leading the meeting\, but they usually plan and conduct it with the help of other leaders. Each den is assigned a part to share\, and the Pack Committee supports the Cubmaster and den leaders. \nAt the meeting\, Scouts may participate in activities such as games\, skits\, songs\, and ceremonies. They may also present badges and achievements they earned during the month.\nPack 79 also is trying this year to do some of the den (Grade) advancement activities and looking for parents to help with those activities and plan for next time.\n

SUMMARY:Dinosaur Valley State Park Camping Trip
DESCRIPTION:Pack 79 Families\,We are excited to announce that our Pack 79 Fall Camping Trip is confirmed for Friday\, October 2 through Sunday\, October 4 at Dinosaur Valley State Park in Glen Rose\, Texas. We have reserved 8 campsites for the Pack. This will be a family campout\, so parents and siblings are welcome. Dinosaur Valley is a great Cub Scout destination\, with real dinosaur tracks\, hiking\, river areas\, wildlife\, and Junior Ranger activities through Texas State Parks. Families may also be able to borrow Junior Ranger Explorer Packs from park headquarters\, and we will watch for any ranger-led programs scheduled during our campout weekend.Because campsites are limited\, spots will be reserved by payment. We are trying to make this as easy as possible for families. To reserve your spots\, please send a $5 per person "save your spot" payment by Zelle to pack79plano@gmail.com. PayPal is also accepted\, but there are transaction fees. Please include your scout's name in the payment memo so we can organize who has paid. Each $5 payment reserves one spot. For example\, $20 reserves 4 people.Final fees will be confirmed closer to the trip and will not exceed $20 per scout/child under 13 and $30 per adult or sibling age 13+. The final fee will include campsite costs\, daily park entrance fees for adults and siblings age 13+\, and extra parking passes if needed for your car. Any excess funds will be used for campout supplies such as food\, firewood\, s'mores\, and related Pack camping needs.More details will follow as we get closer to the campout.Thank you\,\nPack 79 Committee
