DESCRIPTION:Join Cubmaster Ryan and Tim Puopolo\, Needham's Conservation Specialist\, as we practice being good citizens by maintaining the trail through Mitchell Woods. We'll be picking up trash\, widening the trail\, building erosion steps and fixing footbridges. There's something for scouts of every age to do.\nAll scouts have a requirement to participate in a service project\, and this is an opportunity to complete it.\nMitchell woods is a small town-owned forest located adjacent to the fields at Mitchell Elementary. A single trail runs through it beginning at the end of James Ave. and ending at the school fields. DESCRIPTION:In recognition of the anniversary of Scouting\, we are organizing a Scout Shabbat/Sunday service at Temple Beth Shalom in Needham at their regular Friday evening service. During the service\, we will discuss the links between Scouting and Judaism/Faith Groups. All Pack 4 Scouts and their families are welcome to join\, along with an optional dinner beforehand at 5:30 (reservations required here).If you're able to attend\, please RSVP in Scoutbook so that we can give an attendance estimate to Temple Beth Shalom. Scouts are requested to wear their full Scout uniform as well as any Scout Sunday/Shabbat patches they may have earned in the past.

DESCRIPTION:Scouts Read Sacred Texts Worldwide is an event to encourage youth to read their sacred texts in conjunction with the U.S. National Day of Prayer. The event aligns with the values\, principles\, and spiritual aims of Scouting. It is intended for Scoutmasters\, Cubmasters\, Advisors\, and other adult leaders seeking a simple\, respectful way to support a Scout's Duty to God. The National Day of Prayer falls on May 7\, 2026\, so most participants will read sacred texts throughout that week. We invite all Scouters and youth-serving organizations to join us! Any Scout working on Duty to God advancement requirements is welcome to read their sacred texts at any time through the National Day of Prayer on May 7th\, 2026. Participation satisfies the Reverence requirement for Cub Scouts to advance in rank. Register here.
