SUMMARY:Scouting for Food Bag Distribution
DESCRIPTION:From the Council:\nScouting for Food is an amazing community service project that has a long history in the Michigan Crossroads Council. One day a year (11/8/25)\, Scouts from all over the council pick up non-perishable food donations from local residents and take those to their local food pantries. A week prior (11/1/25)\, the Scouts drop off bags to the local residents to invite them to take part in this worth-while service project.\nFrom the Pack:\nBags (and notes to attach to bags explaining the project) will be available for pick up at den/pack meetings prior to 11/1. Your scout is encouraged set a goal of how many bags to distribute and to go out the morning of 11/1 and leave bags on the porches of neighbors (or distribute to residents any way that works for your family!).\nOne week later (11/8/25)\, Scouts are encouraged to dress in uniform and circle back around to their distribution area to collect bags filled with food donations that are left out on porches (wagons are encouraged!) This needs to be done in the morning.\nLastly\, you and your scout will meet the Scouting for Food committee at Workman between 11:00am-12:00pm on 11/8 to load up your collection for its final drop off at the district collection site.\n
