SUMMARY:Pack Court Of Honor
DESCRIPTION:Attention Adults/Parents! This is the last opportunity to check on your Scouts' accomplishments. Please look at their adventures in Scoutbook (under the youth profile) and sign off anything that you have completed with your child...especially religious and youth protection items. A member of the Pack Leadership will then review and mark "approved" prior to the Court Of Honor. Some of our families joined during the Scouting year or Youth were not able to attend all activities. If you did these on your own\, we want to recognize that accomplishment! Awards will be purchased on Friday\, so The deadline to have these documented is Thursday night.\nThis will be the final Pack Meeting & Court Of Honor for the school year! Scouts will receive their final awards before heading into the summer. This is our "graduation ceremony" and Scouts will be awarded their next rank along with a new neckerchief as they advance in the program! Please wear your Class A Scout shirt and previous years' neckerchief if you have one.\nWe will have some build-your-own yogurt parfait for a treat!\nYou may have previously seen an email reminder with the Picnic Shelter listed as the location. This plan fell through and the weather forecast shows a chilly evening so we will have it at the Church.\n

SUMMARY:Roseville Rose Parade
DESCRIPTION:Please RSVP for this event on Scoutbook Plus!\nThe Roseville Rose Parade is a long-standing Roseville tradition that is built on community pride and sustained by community involvement. It is recognized as one of the top three community parades in our state. Watching the parade is a decades-long tradition\, traditionally drawing around 15\,000 enthusiastic curbside spectators\, and it is televised locally on Cable Access Channel 15.\nThe Members of Boy Scouts and Cub Scout units from the Roseville Area will be collectively participating in the parade. It is a terrific opportunity for your Scout to show pride in their organization\, their uniform\, and their community! Matt Vavra (Troop 9401\, formerly Pack 9634) is the central organizer for this event. He has shared with us the following information:\nWe are in spot 17 this year\, so we should be stepping off a good bit earlier than last year. They want us at RAHS by 5:30\, there's no parking at the high school\, so plan on either being dropped off or walking over from parking outside of there\, and the parade is scheduled to start by 6:15\, so I imagine we'll be moving by 6:30 give or take. Pack 9634 has already ordered 750 lenticular cards and we're planning to bring roughly an equal amount of Jolly Ranchers or similar. We also have a banner that we're borrowing from the Council\, but on the flip side\, we probably won't have a "float" / decorated trailer this year as the creative folks that put it together last year can't make it this go around. What we really need is bodies\, so if you can get your Packs to come out and help\, please by all means do so. If you'd like to contribute materially\, you're welcome to as well\, but as this is a multi-Pack event\, please try and keep any materials unit-generic.\nThe parade is 1-mile and will end at The Roseville City Offices/The Oval. You can text/coordinate with Jamie Penny (612) 859-0709 to pickup your Scout after the parade is over.\n\nPlease wear your Class A uniform and bring a water bottle. It should be a great time!\n\nhttps://www.cityofroseville.com/3644/Rose-Parade\n

SUMMARY:Cub Scout Summer Camp
DESCRIPTION:Cub Scout Summer Camp is just around the corner! This year is going to be our best one yet. We have 25 people from Pack 150 registered to attend so it will be a fantastic group!\n----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------\nAll of the information that you need is on the Council's website here: https://camp.northernstar.org/Article-Detail/cub-scout-summer-camp#Details. \nI would print out the parent guidebook and use it to help you pack. This document is here: https://camp.northernstar.org/Portals/3/Documents/2024_Cub_Scout_Parent_Sheet.pdf\nThere are a couple of things to point out for questions that we frequently get:\n1) The camp has canvas wall tents already setup\, however these tents do not have insect screens. Most campers bring their own tent\, but you are welcome to use the canvas tents. It is recommended to bring a mosquito netting if you choose this route (or borrow some from the camp free of charge).\n2) The distance from the car to the campsite is usually 300-500 yards so you need to carry your gear. A collapsible wagon really makes this process easy if you have one. There are several to borrow if you do not.\n3) If you are able to arrive right at 6pm\, I recommend doing so. Get your tent setup and go straight to the pool to complete your swim test. This will give you more time to play in the pool or go boating during the weekend.\n4) Fill out your forms before camp! There is a Scout health form and shooting sports waiver. You need to fill this out for the youth AND ADULTS. You need parts A\, B1\, and B2. Found here: https://filestore.scouting.org/filestore/HealthSafety/pdf/680-001_AB.pdf\n------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------\nA note about communication:\nPack 150 uses the messaging app "Signal" to coordinate during activities like summer camp. Download Signal from your app store and join Pack 150 by clicking HERE \n\n\nQuestions for the camp? Email: cubcamping@northernstar.org Phone: 612-261-2303\n______________________________________________________________________________________________\nI can't wait to see you there!\n\n\nMap for directions \n

SUMMARY:No Meeting - Accomplish Youth Protection Training
DESCRIPTION:Typically there will be no Pack or Den Meetings on the fourth/fifth Tuesday of the month\, however you do have some at-home training to accomplish this week with your Scout.\nEvery year you and your Scout will be required to accomplish Youth Protection Training. This is YOUR training and you should cover it how you think best for you and your family. What you talk about and how you approach these conversations will vary depending on your child and their age and experience.\n1) Start by reviewing the Scouting America Youth Protection Guide. It is online here:\nhttps://filestore.scouting.org/filestore/pdf/100-014_WEB.pdf?_gl=1*af0ckc*_ga*NDM3MzIzNjcyLjE3NTM5MDA2MzU.*_ga_20G0JHESG4*czE3NTg3MTg5NTQkbzE2JGcxJHQxNzU4NzIwNzg4JGoxOSRsMCRoMA..*_gcl_au*MTYyMzY2OTA0NC4xNzU4NDg1MTQ3&_ga=2.213519124.102174093.1758642342-437323672.1753900635\n2) Develop a plan for your conversation. Some good tips/ideas start on page 21.\n3) Have a conversation or role-play scenarios from the pamphlet. Have a 5-minute conversation with your Scout about these topics.\n4) Once you have completed these objectives you can log them in Scoutbook Plus. \n--A) Visit your Scout's Youth Profile here https://advancements.scouting.org/youthProfile/\n --B) Click "view more" to the right of whatever rank they are working on. (K=Lion\, 1st=Tiger\, 2nd=Wolf\, 3rd=Bear\, 4th=Webelos\, 5th=AOL)\n--C) Under the first section\, click the version to the most current\, then select the bobcat adventure. here is a picture- bobcat \n--D) Find the requirement to complete the Youth Protection Training (the last one) and mark the date complete. Place a comment if it helps. Click save.\nConversely\, you can just email/text/tell your Den Leader and they can log it for you. If you want more information on Youth Protection Training or Scouting America's policies\, you can check out the program here:\nhttps://www.scouting.org/training/youth/cub-scout/\n\nIf you have any questions\, please email leaders@rosevillepack150.org\nThank you!\n\n

SUMMARY:Pack Bicycle Adventure in Roseville's Central Park
DESCRIPTION:We will meet at the parking lot of Central Park Victoria West - this is the park just to the south of Prince of Peace church on Victoria Street. The plan will be to ride the paved trail around Lake Bennett\, back to our starting point and then cross Victoria to pick up the east side of the trail\, looping around the Arboretum by Dale Street and back again. The plan is to do the loop twice as the Webelos have a requirement to ride 5 miles. However\, younger scouts can peel off (with their parents) if they need to as we loop back by the parking lot if they need a break or just want to go to the playground.Bring your bike and bring a helmet and a bottle of water! Parents and siblings too!The Lion and Tiger dens will be earning "On A Roll" https://www.scouting.org/cub-scout-adventures/on-a-roll/ and "Rolling Tigers" https://www.scouting.org/cub-scout-adventures/rolling-tigers/The Wolf Den will be doing "Pedal With The Pack" https://www.scouting.org/cub-scout-adventures/pedal-with-the-pack/The Bears will be doing the "Bears On Bikes" adventure.https://www.scouting.org/cub-scout-adventures/bears-on-bikes/The Webelos will be doing the "Pedal Away" adventure. We will cover bike locks\, how to lubricate the chain\, shifting gears\, The Webelos adventure requires a 5 mile bike ride. Doing the loop twice will get them to 5 miles. https://www.scouting.org/programs/cub-scouts/adventures/webelos/Sunset should be around 8:00pm so it will be light out. Temperatures should be in the 60's. If you don't have a bike or a way to transport a bike to the park\, let one of the leaders know and we will see what we can do to help out! Some Notes for the parents:1) We need a parent in the front of the group and one in the back. We will instruct the Scouts not to pass the "leading" adult.2) Scouts are required to wear helmets. There will be some extras if you don't have one.3) We will have one busy road to cross along the route (Victoria) There is a designated cross walk with a signal.

We will be cutting-out the car shape from the block of wood and adding weights to make the car weigh 5.0 ounces.Help your Scout have a top performing racecar! We have scales\, weights\, drills\, jigs. Lets get the cars dialed-inWith support from our former Committee Chair and Troop 297 Scoutmaster; Eric Anderson: we will be hosting two Pinewood Derby Build Days at Eric's Shop in St Paul. The address is:467 Arlington Avenue WestSaint Paul\, MN 55117Some notes related to Pinewood derby cars:In preparation for the build days your scout should determine how their car will be designed. I will say some of the fastest cars I have seen are simple wedges. On the attached cover sheet there are the categories for awards that the scouts will vote on. Your scout may want to consider these when selecting a design. The scout store and hobby stores sell pre-cut cars if you want to go that route\, we can pretty much cut out anything using my bandsaw but if you would rather use those they are available. There are also add ons (lights\, sound\, etc) that are sold for pinewood derby cars. I would advise against these as the car must remain within the size specification for the track and these can cause issues. The pack has steel weights that we drill into the body of the car. If you would prefer to use tungsten weights you are welcome to bring them. I would advise against using any of the weights that stick on to the bottom of the car as they can interfere with the track and we can get your scouts car to the correct weight using other means.Remember the pinewood derby is not just for scouts\, siblings and parents are encouraged to build and race a car!Pack 150 Pinewood Derby Flyer

DESCRIPTION:Please RSVP so that we know how many people will be eating brunch! The Martin Luther King Jr. holiday on Jan. 19\, 2026\, is the 30th anniversary of the day of service that celebrates the Civil Rights leader's life and legacy. Did you know that MLK Day is the only federal holiday designated as a national day of service to encourage all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities? Martin Luther King\, Jr. Day became a national holiday in 1983\, and in 1994\, President Clinton signed the Martin Luther King\, Jr. Federal Holiday and Service Act. This made the holiday a day of community service. While the MLK Day of Service continues to grow each year\, many people are not aware of the volunteer component to the holiday. Choosing to serve others creates solutions for stronger communities.MLK Day Winter Seeding Event at Materion Park 225 Minnesota Ave Monday\, January 19\, 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.\, brunch at Cedarholm Community Building after Volunteer your time with us on Martin Luther King Jr. Day for a "day on\, not a day off." After the volunteer work is done\, we will gather for a brunch at Cedarholm Community Building.Volunteers should dress for the weather as this event is outside. SUMMARY:VFW Poppy Handouts - Cub Foods Larpenteur Ave
DESCRIPTION:Please Sign Up for a time slot on this spreadsheet - SIGN UP SHEETPack 150 working with Roseville VFW Post 7555 will be handing out Poppies to raise awareness and do some fundraising for Memorial Day. While the poppies will be distributed all over the area\, Pack 150 has been assigned the Cub Foods at 1201 Larpenteur Ave W\, Roseville\, MN 55113 to cover shift on Friday from 10a-6p and Saturday from 10a-6p. Please RSVP and claim a 2-hour time slot (10a\, noon\, 2p\, 4p). It works great if there are two Cub Scouts at a shift with at least one adult. Why the Poppy?During the First World War (1914-1918) much of the fighting took place in Western Europe\, especially in and around a region of northern France and Belgium known as Flanders. Previously beautiful countryside was blasted\, bombed\, burned\, and fought over\, again and again. The "no-man's land" between the two opposing sides became a bleak wasteland where nothing could grow. Bright red Flanders Poppies (Papaver Rhoeas) however\, were delicate but resilient flowers that thrived in distressed soil\, and they flourished in the midst of the chaos and destruction. In early May 1915\, shortly after losing his best friend in battle at Ypres\, a Canadian Allied Soldier named Lt Col John McCrae was so inspired by the sight of poppies burgeoning in the wastelands between the opposing forces that he wrote the nowfamous poem\, "In Flanders Fields."McCrae was killed in France in January 1918. His poem and the poppies inspired many Veterans organizations to use poppies to raise money and awareness for disabled and needy Vets\, including the VFW in the US\, which began distributing the Buddy Poppy®\, made by disabled and needy American Vets\, on Memorial Day 1922. Today the VFW Buddy Poppy program provides compensation to the veterans who assemble the poppies\, provides money for local\, state\, and national veterans' rehabilitation and service programs\, and provides support for the VFW National Home for Children. Please Sign Up for a time slot on this spreadsheet - SIGN UP SHEET

The Scout store also sells rocket kits.It is best to get an easy to assemble rocket that costs less than $25. We do lose one or two rockets every year. The smaller the motor\, the more likely your Scout will get to launch it repeatedly. A and B motors are best.\nThe Pack will have a case of 18mm rocket motors with the required fuses and a launch platform. These engines are usually labeled A8-3 or B6-4 and are "standard" rockets. We recommend buying a rocket that is compatible with these. If you want to build a "mini" rocket\, you are more than welcome. Just buy enough rocket motors to keep your Scout happy. The mini rockets are 13mm engines and are labeled A3-4T among other designators. We will have an ice cream treat. Bring a lawn chair!

SUMMARY:Cub Scout Summer Camp
DESCRIPTION:Cub Scout Summer Camp is just around the corner! This year is going to be our best one yet.\n----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------\nAll of the information that you need is on the Council's website here: https://camp.northernstar.org/Article-Detail/cub-scout-summer-camp#Details. Download Signal from your app store and join Pack 150 by clicking HERE \n\nQuestions for the camp? Email: cubcamping@northernstar.org Phone: 612-261-2303\n______________________________________________________________________________________________\nI can't wait to see you there!\n\nMap for directions \n
