DESCRIPTION:SCOUTS AND LEADERS PLEASE MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO ATTEND!! In addition to RSVP'ing\, please message Mr. Bolopue on GroupMe if you're not able to attend!\nThis year's parade starts at 1:00PM. We will be marching directly behind the Honor Guard and in front of the Cub Scout float.\nThe Scouts from troop 7071 will be marching with us! We will again be selling water bottles! We will need two teams of two scouts to walk the parade route before and during the parade! Each team will be pulling a wagon with a cooler of COLD water bottles. \nFor this to work\, we'll need: \n- 6 coolers that will fit in a typical camp wagon. (approximately 20"X36"). \n- An adult to park near the middle of the parade as a "refill station" for the wagons to get more waters from and to sell waters to those passing by. (Preferably somebody with a truck)\n- 2 Camp Wagons\n- 4 Wagon Signs (2 per wagon)\n- 100 Pounds of Ice\n- Four scouts to sell the parade route\n- Four volunteers to add our custom wrappers to the water bottles (THEY'RE PRETTY COOL!)\n\n\n-->SIGN UP TO BRING ITEMS OR SELL WATERS HERE PLEASE<-- \n\n\nScouts who are marching are to arrive 90 minutes before the parade (11:30AM).\nScouts who are selling are to arrive 2 hours before the parade (11:00AM).\nWe've been given permission to park in the reserved lot at Afton City Hall.\nPlease park as far East as possible. We're sharing these spaces with others.\nIf overflow parking is needed\, we've been given permission to park along Pike Ave (road that heads out of the parking lot's East side) as well.\nFamilies are welcome to enjoy the parade and encouraged to cheer on the troop as they pass by!!\nBRING A WATER BOTTLE TO MARCH WITH!!!\nAll Scouts and Adult Leaders must be in Class A uniforms.\n- No non-scouting headwear\n- Uniform shirts\n- Neckerchiefs\n- Sashes not required\n\n\nWe have been asked to help with the following clean-up efforts:\n- Trash pick-up along the parade route after the parade\n- Trash pick-up BY the marina where parade participants line-up\n- Collect all of the "no parking" yard signs\n- Trash pick-up in Town Square Park\n\n\n---- We've been asked to place any trash bags left by vendors in the dumpster in the SW corner of the park.\nAs we have in years past\, our troop will earn $200 for assisting with clean-up!\nThe troop will provide trash bags\, but every scout cleaning up will need to bring their own work gloves.\n

We will be serving up tacos and raising money for the troop at Lakeland's National Night Out Celebration. DESCRIPTION:Update sent by the organizer for this weekend's Klondike Derby:We have received several questions and concerns with the predicted cold weather this weekend for the Klondike Derby\, so we have decided to pivot and change the programming to a Merit Badge day rather than have Scouts outside doing stations.The majority of the programing will happen in the warmth of Swanson Hall.There will be an outdoor session (no more than 30 minutes) which will include fires. Please make sure all participants come prepared for this session.We will still make the stone soup. Please bring soup/broth and your lunches as outlined in the leader guide.Bring water bottles\, but a water cooler will not be needed.We will provide hot coco and snacks\, if units would like to contribute snack items that would be appreciated. In the spirit of scouting we will have communal snacks and ask that units not bring unit only snacks. (At lunch time is the appropriate time for unit meals.)You will not need your sleds (sad face)\, fire building supplies\, shovel\, ropes\, etc.Scouts will complete the Chemistry Merit Badge.Please arrive with each scouts name as it is listed in scout book and their member Identification number. DESCRIPTION:Hello\, All!We have the opportunity to head up to the northern part of the Pine Island State Forest for a couple night stay at a former scouting family's (the Fearing's) cabin near Little Fork\, MN. The stars have aligned\, people and the cabin are available\, and the opportunity to head north is upon us!\nWe'll be leaving the church no later than 4:30 on the 21st! PLEASE TRY TO ARRIVE BY 4:15 AT LATEST!\nMr. Fearing and his nephew will be opening up their cabin on 2/6 and will be ready to greet us upon our arrival. It will take us about 5.5 hours (with a stop for dinner) to get up there. Once we're settled in\, we'll have the opportunity to do some winter hiking\, snow fort building\, eat LOADS of great food\, and check out a North-woods logging operation.The cost of this outing is pretty minimal. DESCRIPTION:Stay at Whitewater State Park and go trout fishing.\nOur annual Trout Fishing campout is just around the corner (4/24) so I wanted to get some things in front of everyone while there's still time to prepare. If this is your first time heading out on this campout\, here's what you'll need to know!Fishing GearWhile insulated hip waders are recommended\, for those of you without them\, the tallest pair of insulated waterproof (read "rubber) boots you can get your hands on should be just fine. The hip waders are really helpful for staying dry while exploring different parts of the streams we'll be fishing\, but you will ABSOLUTELY still be able to fish without them. Even if the weather is nice\, it's still April. Plan to wear warm socks all weekend and dress in layers.Live bait (not minnows) are allowed\, but usually present more hassles than benefits. Below are the lures I recommend having on hand:Blue Fox Vibrax Shallow SpinnersMepps Aglia Dressed SpinnersWorden's Original Rooster Tail Spinners1/8th ounce versions of the lures above is all you'll need. Trout are opportunistic feeders who eat VERY small bugs all the time so large lures are typically counterproductive. 6 pound test line will be more than sufficient. I like to use Spiderwire braided line. They make an 8 pound test line that has a 2 pound diameter. Works well! Try to stay away from high visibility lines.\nAnyone 16+ will need a 2026 MN fishing license.Anyone 18+ will need a license and trout stamp.\nGeneral Camping GearWe'll be tent camping in April... in a deep valley... in Minnesota. The odds of us seeing frost on the ground on Saturday morning is high. Getting off the ground while you sleep is highly advisable. Bringing a cot or an insulated sleeping pad will make a world of difference. Remember\, the temperature ratings on your sleeping bags are assuming that you're not sleeping directly on the ground. That means that your "30 degree" sleeping bag is more like a "50 degree" sleeping bag if there's nothing between you and the ground. Cheaper inflatable sleeping pads tend to not hold their air very well in the cold. Plan ahead and ASK if you have questions or need recommendations. Plan to have warm clothes and a stocking hat for sleeping in.Unless you like eating with your bare hands\, everybody needs to bring a mess kit and water bottle.Camp chairs are advisable.Headlamp (we'll be heading out in the dark!)We'll be bringing the troop trailer so don't worry about bringing gear that's too bulky. We'll have space!\nWeatherThere's always a slight chance of rain this time of year. Plan to BRING A PONCHO to shove in your bag. Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. I'm also going to bring my 10X10 pop-up tent to cook under. If somebody can bring another\, we might need to make use of it while we eat.\nFishing Conditions and Gameplan\nWater upstream from the hatchery will likely still be too stained/murky to fish\, but if the guys would like\, we can absolutely go check it out.Our best bet is at a spot called K's Meadow. It's about a 25 minute drive from Whitewater State Park (where we'll be).Saturday morning we're up at 4:15AM.We have to leave camp no later than 4:50AMWe want to be parked and walking to the water by 5:15AM.Dawn starts at 5:37AMWe should have 2-2.5 good hours of fishing\nBeaver Creek is our next best bet. We can head there Saturday afternoon.The Beaver Creek drop in spot is about 20 minutes from our campground.Afternoon fishing windows are typically a bit longer. Optimal fishing time is three hours before sunset until dusk.Leave camp around 5:10PMWalking to the water by 5:30PMHead back around 8:30PM\nOur last fishing window comes on Sunday morning. If the weather turns nasty\, we can head out early\, but otherwise\, let's plan to get our lures wet one last time!Same time frames as on Saturday morning. We can either revisit one of the locations we visited the day before\, or we can hit up the North Branch of the White Water.This location is about 15 minutes away from our campground and usually pretty fun to climb around!\nAs always\, PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS IF YOU HAVE THEM. DESCRIPTION:SCOUTS AND LEADERS PLEASE MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO ATTEND!! In addition to RSVP'ing\, please message Mr. Bolopue on GroupMe if you're not able to attend!\nThis year's parade starts at 1:00PM. We will be marching directly behind the Honor Guard and in front of the Cub Scout float.\nThe Scouts from troop 7071 will be marching with us! We will again be selling water bottles! We will need two teams of two scouts to walk the parade route before and during the parade! Each team will be pulling a wagon with a cooler of COLD water bottles. \nFor this to work\, we'll need: \n- 6 coolers that will fit in a typical camp wagon. (approximately 20"X36"). \n- An adult to park near the middle of the parade as a "refill station" for the wagons to get more waters from and to sell waters to those passing by. (Preferably somebody with a truck)\n- 2 Camp Wagons\n- 4 Wagon Signs (2 per wagon)\n- 100 Pounds of Ice\n- Four scouts to sell the parade route\n- Four volunteers to add our custom wrappers to the water bottles (THEY'RE PRETTY COOL!)\n\n\n\nScouts who are marching are to arrive 90 minutes before the parade (11:30AM).\nScouts who are selling are to arrive 2 hours before the parade (11:00AM).\nWe've been given permission to park in the reserved lot at Afton City Hall.\nPlease park as far East as possible. We're sharing these spaces with others.\nIf overflow parking is needed\, we've been given permission to park along Pike Ave (road that heads out of the parking lot's East side) as well.\nFamilies are welcome to enjoy the parade and encouraged to cheer on the troop as they pass by!!\nBRING A WATER BOTTLE TO MARCH WITH!!!\nAll Scouts and Adult Leaders must be in Class A uniforms.\n- No non-scouting headwear\n- Uniform shirts\n- Neckerchiefs\n- Sashes not required\n\nWe have been asked to help with the following clean-up efforts:\n- Trash pick-up along the parade route after the parade\n- Trash pick-up BY the marina where parade participants line-up\n- Collect all of the "no parking" yard signs\n- Trash pick-up in Town Square Park\n\n---- We've been asked to place any trash bags left by vendors in the dumpster in the SW corner of the park.\nAs we have in years past\, our troop will earn $200 for assisting with clean-up!\nThe troop will provide trash bags\, but every scout cleaning up will need to bring their own work gloves.\n
