Please arrive no later than 6:00 AM to pack up.\nReturn to the same location mid-day on Sunday\, November 8. We will email when we hit the road to give a more precise ETA.\nCost estimate is $35/person payable to Troop 929 Treasurer (see event details link for payment options). You may want to bring some additional spending money for snacks and a possible lunch stop on Sunday.\nThe forecast is cold with possible rain - and a little snow! Dress in layers. DESCRIPTION:We will receive our large batch of wreaths/garlands after Thanksgiving\, and we need all hands on deck to deliver them quickly.  This is actually the fun part\, where the Scouts get to spread evergreen cheer throughout the neighborhood.  So even if you did not sell any wreaths for whatever reason\, you can still greatly help with this major fall fundraiser by assisting with deliveries.\nHere are the delivery time slots on our calendar for next weekend (after Thanksgiving Day):\n\nSaturday 11/29\, 9 AM - 4 PM\nSunday 11/30\, 1 PM - 4 PM\n\nPlease everyone do your best to come by on 1 or both days to lend a helping hand.  It should not take more than ~1 hour to pick up your own orders and deliver a group of ~10 other orders in your neighborhood.  Scouts should be in uniform.\nPlease meet at the Swider home at 2836 Park Place.  There is no parking on our south side of the street\, but we can use the alley to our west or the driveway of our neighbor to the east for loading up your vehicles.  Wreaths and garland will be stacked by type and we will have groups of packing slips printed out\, sorted geographically.  In an effort to avoid congestion\, please use this Sign-Up Genius form to spread ourselves out a bit. DESCRIPTION:We will receive our large batch of wreaths/garlands after Thanksgiving\, and we need all hands on deck to deliver them quickly.  This is actually the fun part\, where the Scouts get to spread evergreen cheer throughout the neighborhood.  So even if you did not sell any wreaths for whatever reason\, you can still greatly help with this major fall fundraiser by assisting with deliveries.\nHere are the delivery time slots on our calendar for next weekend (after Thanksgiving Day):\n\nSaturday 11/29\, 9 AM - 4 PM\nSunday 11/30\, 1 PM - 4 PM\n\nPlease everyone do your best to come by on 1 or both days to lend a helping hand.  It should not take more than ~1 hour to pick up your own orders and deliver a group of ~10 other orders in your neighborhood.  Scouts should be in uniform.\nPlease meet at the Swider home at 2836 Park Place.  There is no parking on our south side of the street\, but we can use the alley to our west or the driveway of our neighbor to the east for loading up your vehicles.  Wreaths and garland will be stacked by type and we will have groups of packing slips printed out\, sorted geographically.  In an effort to avoid congestion\, please use this Sign-Up Genius form to spread ourselves out a bit. SUMMARY:Service project - Forest Preserve District
DESCRIPTION:This is an optional Ecology/Conservation service project taking place at Miami Woods of the Forest Preserve of Cook County.  The focus of the day will be cutting and burning invasive plant species.All scouts are welcome\, though those 12 years old and younger will need to have one of their parents accompany them during the project. All participating scouts will need to provide a completed and signed waiver form.A scout leader from another local troop\, Alan Sanders\, is coordinating the scout participation in this event.  Meet at the parking lot off North Caldwell Avenue at West Cleveland Street. Drive to the south end of parking lot just north of Oakton on the west side of the river and look for the volunteers sign. On the day\, you can call Alan 773-562-2925 for more specific guidance.Bring: Water and a snack; clothing appropriate to the temperature for working outside (but at minimum long pants\, long-sleeved shirt\, and a hat); work gloves if you have them (though they will have backups).

SUMMARY:Communications Merit Badge Outing
DESCRIPTION:Troop 929 has been invited to attend the Chicago High School Debate Champtionship at Northwestern. We will attend the debate on campus and then have a discussion about it\, as well as a discussion about career opportunities in communications. This will satisfy requirements 5 and 9 for this merit badge\, which are two of the most difficult ones to get outside of troop or independent work time. Here is the timeline: 10:00 a.m. Drop-off at Northwestern University (location TBD)10:15 a.m. Attend Debate Session11:30 a.m. Lunch at Norris and Group Discussion1:00 p.m. Pick up at Northwestern (location TBD)Mrs. Alexander and I will supervise this activity and I can serve as merit badge counselor for those who attend.
