SUMMARY:Den Meeting - Pedal Away Adventure (Elective)
DESCRIPTION:We're kicking off our Webelos year with a den bike ride south along the Lafayette-Moraga Regional Trail starting at the playground at Lafayette Elementary. \nWe will ride from LES to the Lafayette Community center and back for a total of 5 miles.  When we get to the community center we will have a snack and complete some of our activities before riding back to LES.  \nWhat you need to bring:\n\nBike\nhelmet\nwater bottle\nsnacks\nA lock for your bike\nbike tube\nmini pump or co2\n\nDuring this elective adventure activity\, scouts will:\n\nDecide  on gear and supplies you should bring for a long bike ride.\nDiscover how multi-gear bicycles work and how they benefit a rider .\nPractice how to lubricate a chain.\nPick a bicycle lock that you will use. Demonstrate how it locks and unlocks\, how it secures your bicycle\, and how you carry it while you are riding your bicycle.\nWith your family\, den\, or pack\, use a map and plan a bicycle ride that is at least 5 miles.\nWith your den\, pack\, or family and using the buddy system\, go on a bicycle ride that is a minimum of 5 miles.\n\n\n\n\n\n

DESCRIPTION:It's a crazy month\, so let's utilize the Lafayette Reservoir Run as our October den meeting. It also helps us fulfill the Stronger\, Faster\, Higher required elective. No matter what race/walk you sign up for (and even if you don't register)\, let's meet in front. of Chico's on Mt. Diablo Boulevard at 7:30 am to do some stretching and warm-up exercises. Then\, when everyone is done\, let's meet up at Lafayette Park Plaza (across from Sideboard) to do some cool down as part of our adventure requirements.
