Hikes are staggered beginning at 9:30. All hikes last until finished - longer hikes could take until 11:00.\nWhat to bring: Class B uniform\, Hiking boots or comfortable supportive walking shoes. Backpack with: The 6 Cub Scout Essentials (Filled Water Bottle\, Trail Food\, First Aid Kit\, Sunscreen/Bug Spray\, Whistle\, Flashlight)\, Rain Gear\, Handbook. Many ranks require assembling and bringing the 6 essentials\, please have all items even though we won't likely need to use them all. Consider bringing extra water bottles. First Aid kit can be small - bandaids\, neosporin\, blister tape\, etc. Proper footwear is crucial - trails will be rocky in areas. All hikes will stop for a brief snack/lunch on trail. You must bring your lunch with you.Why: Hiking is a major component of Scouting and we like to get our Cub Scouts to hike as frequently as possible. Hikes start at 1 mile for our Tigers and extend up to 4 miles +/- for our Webelos/AoL groups\, so that over their tenure\, our scouts will gradually hike a bit further each year. We also use this opportunity to meet many of the outdoor requirements for each rank. Sourland Mountain Preserve is also a beautiful mountainous natural area in our own backyard\, which makes for a fun place to hike and enjoy the outdoors.\nHow: Bring your gear and yourselves and be prepared to have a good time.\nYou may have received additional information from your Den Leader with information specific to your own hike.

DESCRIPTION:Uniform: Class B/Long sleeves & pants Waiver Form: TBD (We will need one of these forms filled out for every participant of a Herrod Blvd cleanup.) Please print\, fill out and bring to any event before the cleanup.We will be picking up trash along the side of the road on Herrod Blvd and Docks Corner Rd. There is just under a mile and a half of road we cover. We will go over the basic rules of what to clean (and what not to) along with some general safety item before we begin. You can bring your family members\, if you so wish.IMPORTANT: We need to have a wavier for every person attending\, no exceptions. This is for the city and we must have it before you begin cleanup. If you could print it out and fill them all out before hand it would really speed things up. For adults and family\, please write the scout name in the area on the sheet.We will have the garbage bags and a good amount of gloves available. Below is what you should bring and know.Event time: October 25\, 2026 from 2:00p - 3:30p (Please be on time so we can get every signed in an out cleaning as quickly as possible)We will be meeting right on the corner of Herrod Blvd and Docks Corner Road. DESCRIPTION:Reminder that all cars must be brought to be checked in at the Friday pack meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the VFW. Cars cannot race unless they've been checked in by Friday night.\n\nEach den will race at a specific time on Saturday\, and then the top three cars from each den will advance to the championship. \n\nScouts should arrive 10 minutes before their scheduled race time to vote for the best design award.Here is an FAQ and rules for Pinewood Derby\, including a critical reminder that no cars can weigh more than FIVE OUNCES.
